Why I Write the Stories I Do
I’ve always believed that stories are more than entertainment. They’re a way to connect people across time, place, and experience. I grew up with my nose in books, walking to my local library as if it were a second home. Those early stories I read planted the seeds for a lifetime of writing that would blend my love of a good tale with my fascination for the human heart.
Over the years, I’ve been a journalist, a screenwriter, and a novelist, but one thing has never changed. I’ve always wanted to tell stories that matter. Stories that make you pause, think, and feel. Whether I’m taking you onto a Civil War battlefield in Judgment Tree, into the locker room of The Playbook, or deep into the lives of characters whose struggles mirror your own, I write with one goal in mind: to move you.
My inspiration often comes from small moments. A conversation over coffee that unearths a family secret. A single photograph that whispers a forgotten truth. A scrap of history that refuses to stay buried. These moments become the heartbeat of my books.
Writing for me is never one-sided. This site is not just a place to display my work. It’s a place for conversation. Please explore my books and videos, share your thoughts, and join me in keeping the power of storytelling alive. Because when history meets humanity, and courage meets compassion, that’s when the tales worth telling are born.
